The Demon Slayer logo consists of a crescent and a kanji. The crescent is a symbol of the moon, which plays an important role in the series, as it is the time when demons are most active and dangerous. The crescent also resembles a blade, the main weapon of demon slayers. The kanji is a Japanese letter that appears on the demon slayer uniforms, reading “METSU.” It is related to the meaning of “Japanese demon” and “annihilate.” The kanji may also represent the seven virtues and the seven deadly sins, as it has seven strokes and seven angles.
The English version of the logo uses the Blood Crow Condensed typeface. This typeface is angular, spiked, and has non-standard serifs, which give it a fearful and tense impression. The logo’s color scheme is black and red, which conveys danger, violence, and bloodshed and contrasts with the white background. Some people tattoo the kanji part of the logo on their hands or wrist as a sign of strength and courage or as a way of expressing their fandom for the series.
